Should I (1) transfer my stocks to IBKR or (2) liquidate and repurchase?
Hi there! I'm currently thinking of opening an IBKR account and am thinking of transferring over my existing stocks from Philips so as to avoid the no activity fee from IBKR. Philips charges a pretty hefty transfer fee of 50sgd for the transfer of each counter so I was wondering if it may be cheaper and simpler to simply liquidate everything (25 SGD per trade from Philips) and re-purchase the stocks through IBKR. Does anyone have experience with either of the approaches? It appears to me that the second approach would be financially preferable but not sure if I am missing out on any issues which I should be aware of (e.g. Forex, time gap between liquidation and repurchase). Thanks!
Blowing my account multiple times and and losing thousands of dollars has taught me more than any forex course I’ve taken
Unless you’re the second coming of Warren Buffet you are GOING to lose money(shit he probably even lost a lot of money before being profitable). But when you lose money always remember what you did wrong and never make that mistake again. The more failures you have in this market the more knowledge you will have. Eventually you will lose so much you start being profitable because you learn how to avoid all the mistakes that made you lose money. Don’t be scared man risk what you can and go for it.

I’ve been looking to try forex. I started out trading stocks & after losing 58% I buckled down & spent a lot of time making a trading plan & practicing discipline. Over the next few months I built up over 500% with many small consistent wins. Problem is now I work full time on nights. Thank you!
1.) is trading forex at night viable? 2.) what is the best broker for a small account? 3.) is $100 account to start too small? (I want to practice with real money but not so much that would be discouraging when I take losses.) 4.) what are the best books/resources to start learning? (Willing to spend more than $100 on books cause I like to read and not go into something blind)
